Querétaro is home to the prime aerospace cluster in Mexico, resembling other successful models such as Toulouse, Wichita, Seattle and Montreal. It’s also home of the first and only National Aeronautic University and Aerospace Industrial Park inside an international Airport.

Just two hours by car NW of México City, Queretaro has a perfect location in the heart of México and is positioned among the country’s most developed states, offering its residents a remarkably high standard of living.

There are five powerful reasons to invest in Queretaro: its privileged location, its highly qualified workforce, its quality of life, its infrastructure and its productive integration (642 industries with foreign investment).

Aernnova, General Electric and Bombardier are among the 12 companies in our cluster.

  • 12 manufacturing or supplier companies
  • 3 MRO companies
  • 2 R&D centers
  • 2 design and engineering centers

With financial support and counseling through the CEDIA (Training and Development Center for the Aeronautic Industry), local companies are implementing the AS 9100B certification. There are several business opportunities in joint ventures, co-investment or commercial cooperation with local companies with AS 9100B implementation and with certification in process.

The aerospace industry in Querétaro represents more than 3,300 jobs. From 2009 to 2012, Querétaro will experience a job creation increase of 255% in the aerospace sector.

The National Aeronautic University in Querétaro (UNAQ) is the only university dedicated 100% to the aerospace sector in Mexico. Its programs go from Basic Technician to Engineer in Aeronautic Manufacture. Since 2008, it’s had 1,405 graduates; it currently has 365 students.

The Training & Development Center for the Aeronautic Industry (CEDIA) is a center that promotes the development of the aerospace cluster in Mexico, providing leading edge graduate students and technological solutions for the aeronautic industry.
